Hi there, I’m Caroline. Or maybe you know me as Ponsi. I’m a native Baltimorean, though I hear I should be able to refer to myself as a New Yorker soon (is 10 years still the threshold?). I’ve been shooting on my dad’s AE-1 Canon since I was 15. It was his high school graduation gift that has seen a collective 41 years of use. I’ve taken his film camera with me across the country and around the world over the years. Sometimes I bring my camera out with an intention, but most of the time people and nature surface the perfect moment. More often, I leave my camera behind, experience the perfect moment, and yell about how I SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT MY CAMERA. But hey, that’s living in the moment. The typical style you’ll see here in my work is street or ‘scape. Occasionally there are people too, but I reserve those for the people closest to me. I’m capturing moments that bring me joy hoping that preserving them will bring someone else the same. I hope something in my collections makes you think of the people or places you love.
